HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology Collection

WELCOME to the Certificate III in Pathology Collection! Not bothered by the sight of blood? Do you find the pathology industry exciting? Are you looking for a rewarding and challenging career in health? Then this course is designed for you! The certificate III in Pathology Collection is the starting point to kick start your career in the exciting world of pathology.

You will learn to provide excellent client care, respond appropriately to clients in a healthcare environment and develop your communication skills. Students have up to 12 months to complete their studies. Beginning on our prosthetic training arms, we will guide, support and supervise you as you progress to taking blood and non-blood samples.

Flexible delivery with self paced learning available. Some units are undertaken via distance mode so you can do the work in your own time at your own pace.  You will need access to a computer with internet connection to complete your qualification. The other units are delivered face-to-face with plenty of clinical practice.

Career opportunities include;

  • Pathology Collector
  • Phlebotomist

To achieve this qualification, students need to demonstrate the workplace assessment requirements for the unit: Perform venous blood collections, which includes 35 hours of pathology work and a minimum of 25 venepunctures.
