SUMMARY:HLTHPS009 Perform Peripheral Intravenous Cannulation
DESCRIPTION:This unit of competency teaches the skills and knowledge required for insertion of intravenous cannulate for blood sample collection from clients. Cannulation requires skill and commitment and participants who wish to undertake this training should have access to or support from their workplace to allow them to practice and refine their skills after they have completed their training. Some units are undertaken via distance mode so you can do the work in your own time at your own pace.  \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\nIs this course face to face or distance?\nThe course is conducted via face-to-face training. \nEntry requirements\nThis course requires you to have a good understanding of written\, verbal and spoken English and maths (known as language\, literacy and numeracy ‘LLN’).  All students who enrol in a course are required to undertake Adept Training’s LLN assessment. While not a prerequisite\, we strongly recommend all students be immunised for Hepatitis A and B before enrolling in the course. \nYou will also need to have the knowledge and skills associated with blood collection through experience or by holding the unit of competency HLTPAT002 Perform venous blood collections. Participants undertaking this unit of competency will need the support of their workplace to be able to demonstrate skills learnt in training. \nPlease note all students are required to provide the following documents on enrolment: \n\nCompleted enrolment form\nUSI Number\nPhoto ID\nProof of Residency (Birth Certificate\, Passport\, Green Medicare Card or Citizenship Certificate)\nLanguage\, literacy and numeracy assessment\nEmergency contact\n\n\n\n\nUpcoming Courses\n\n\nTheory will be commenced online prior to attending 2 practical face to face sessions\n\n\nFace to Face Course Dates\nSession Times\n\n\nWednesday 6th September 2023 and Wednesday 13th September 2023\n2 Practical Sessions from 9.00am to 4.30pm
