Your work will involve using discretion and judgement in relation to individualised care and ensuring client’s health needs are being met. Some job titles include:  Disability support worker\, Residential care worker\, Personal care worker \nIs there any work placement?\n120 hours of work placement is expected to complete your training. Adept Training will coordinate work placements for students wherever possible; candidates are encouraged to find their own placement. SUMMARY:aX Test - HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
DESCRIPTION:The training and assessment has been developed in consultation with industry and meet the criteria of the Australian Standards for urinary drug screening and oral drug screening. This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements\, prepare client and equipment and collect specimens via urine and/or oral and breath testing following the special procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing. \nThe skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation\, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. \nThis is a nationally accredited unit of competency to ensure the participant meets the Standards for an ‘accredited collector’\, for the collection of non-blood specimens including saliva\, urine and breathalyser to the Australian Standards. DESCRIPTION:This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide first aid response in a range of situations\, including community and workplace settings. Bandages and face shields will be provided to participants.
