This qualification reflects the role of medical practice assistants whose work includes a broad range of administrative functions combined with tasks to support medical practitioners in the delivery of care to clients. These tasks are completed under the direct or indirect supervision of a medical practitioner.
What will I learn?
During the course you will learn how to decipher medical terminology, perform medical billing, record keeping and patient confidentiality and privacy procedures.
This course requires you to have a good understanding of written, verbal and spoken English and maths (knows as language, literacy and numeracy 'LLN'). All students who enrol in a course are required to undertake Adept Training's LLN assessment.

- Proof of Residency (Birth Certificate, Passport, Green Medicare Card or Citizenship Certificate)
- Language, literacy and numeracy assessment

Is the course face to face or distance?
Our courses are delivered through flexible, blended learning. Under the supervision and mentoring of your trainer you will be required to attend face to face classes and also complete a few units at home.
Units of competency
There are a total of 13 units that make up the HLT37315 Certificate III in Health Administration. 5 core units and 8 electives. If students select First Aid as an elective an additional fee of $150 applies.
