Is there any work placement?
120 hours of work placement is expected to complete your training. Adept Training will coordinate work placements for students wherever possible; candidates are encouraged to find their own placement. Please note that a Police check is required for undergoing placement. We have paired up with some of the best in the business to provide you with clinical work experience.
Is this course face to face or distance?
Our courses are delivered face to face 2 days per week in the classroom for 22 weeks and 1 day a week in the workplace for 17 weeks, starting after week 5.
After this it is recommenced to gain employment for 3 days a week for up to a further 28 weeks. This allows time to complete workplace observation assessment requirements and gain industry skills.
We also recommend home study of approximately 5 hours per week.
All assessments (apart from those observations that must be completed in a workplace) will be completed face to face in the classroom with the support of your trainer. You will not be expected to complete assessments on your own, at home.
Units of competency
There are a total of 15 units that make up CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support; 9 core units and 6 electives. These units are delivered through a blended face to face learning, online workplace-based education method. Please note that you will need access to a computer, internet, email, Microsoft and Adobe to complete units. Work placement is arranged if you do not currently work in a aged and/or disability environment.

Student Testimonials
I have secured employment after having completed my Pathology Collection and Drugs & Alcohol Collection course with Adept Training last year. As luck would have it I have also received numerous job offers from pathology centres in direct response to the letters of introduction and resume's I delivered to all my local centres and clinics. The Adept Training method and its students are by far the preferred candidate for employment which has been confirmed to me by those that work within the industry. So thank you Adept, I wish you and all past and present students, good luck and good fortune.

I completed my Certificate III in Pathology Collection in 2016 and was granted a position with Australian Clinical Labs soon after. I am so glad that I did my certificate with Adept Training. I gained so much from my classes especially the practical lessons. The staff at Adept training gave me the key foundations that I carry to this day in my job and gave me the confidence I needed in all my collection procedures. They helped me through out the recruitment process to get my job and the facilities at Adept are definitely the best I've come across. I now work at 3 different hospitals and I love my job. It's a rewarding career to help people in this way. If your thinking of starting a career in Phlebotomy. Call Adept Training now!
