HLTHPS007 Administer and monitor medications (Online Self Paced)

Do you need to learn about administering medications for your work role? Are you looking to advance your skills as a health professional?

HLTHPS007 Administer and monitor medications is an accredited and robust unit of competency that will teach you how to safely administer medications to people in a healthcare environment.  This may be in a range of settings under delegation from a health professional in accordance with legislation and the organisations’ medication and delegation policies and practice.

Is this course face to face or distance?

The course is designed as an online self-paced course with theory and practical components which must be completed.  When you enrol you will be sent a log in to the online learning which is designed to take you through the knowledge requirements of the course in a logical, step by step sequence. This may be completed at your own pace, within 12 months, during this time you will have the support of our trainer.

Demonstration of medications being administered to people is a mandatory part of the course and forms part of the assessment for this unit.  Students must demonstrate required skills under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse or Aboriginal Healthcare Practitioner and a qualified assessor.

This may be done in one of two ways; either in the workplace under the supervision of Registered Nurse, Endorsed Enrolled Nurse or Aboriginal Healthcare Practitioner (Video, Facetime or Zoom evidence is required to be sent to our assessor) or students may attend a one day face to face workshop where assessment will be conducted.

You will need access to a computer with Internet connection to complete your qualification
