The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. This is a nationally accredited unit of competency to ensure the participant meets the Standards for an ‘accredited collector’, for the collection of non-blood specimens including saliva, urine and breathalyser to the Australian Standards. The program is designed to have you trained to the Australian Standard AS/NZS4380 for the collection of urine or AS/NZS4760 for the collection of oral fluids and alcohol breathalyser.
