Student handbook
The key things to know before you enrol with Adept Training: fees and refunds, attendance, your rights and responsibilities, and where to get support.
Before you enrol
Please read the full handbook before you enrol. When you submit your enrolment form, you confirm you have read it and agree to its terms.
- Check your course's entry requirements, including language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills.
- Some courses need a criminal police check (at your own cost) for the workplace component.
- You'll need a USI and proof of identity, such as a birth certificate, driver's licence or passport.
Fees and payment
- Courses over $1,500 need a deposit at enrolment, with the balance due when training starts.
- Courses under $1,500 are paid in full when you register.
- We accept no more than $1,500 from you before your course starts.
- Pay by direct deposit, card over the phone, in person, or with a payment plan through Zip Pay or Zip Money.
- Eligible NSW students may be subsidised under the Smart and Skilled program.
Refunds, transfers and withdrawals
You have a 10 business day cooling-off period. After that, refunds aren't usually given if you change your mind, withdraw, or don't attend.
- All refunds attract a $450 administration fee.
- Cancel two weeks or more before your course starts for a full refund, less the administration fee.
- Cancel within 7 days before, or within 10 business days after, your course starts for a 50% refund, less the administration fee.
- You can change or defer your course once, within 12 months of your original start date.
- If we cancel a course, you'll be offered a place in a future course or a full refund.
- Approved refunds are paid within 30 calendar days.
Attendance
Attending every session is mandatory. Arriving late or leaving early counts as an absence.
- If you can't attend, call 1300 366 044 at least 8 hours before class and provide a medical certificate.
- In online (Teams) sessions your camera must be on, or you'll be marked absent.
- After three absences without a medical certificate, your enrolment will be cancelled.
Your rights and responsibilities
- Your personal information is protected under privacy law and only shared where the law requires it.
- Our courses are open to everyone, and we comply with anti-discrimination law.
- Harassment and bullying reports are acknowledged within 5 working days.
- No alcohol or drugs, smoking, vaping or mobile phone use during training.
Read our code of practice and complaints, grievances and appeals process.
