Smart and Skilled funded healthcare courses in Sydney

Smart and Skilled is the NSW Government's subsidised training program. It helps eligible people gain nationally recognised qualifications by paying part, or sometimes all, of the course fee. Adept Training is an approved Smart and Skilled provider in Harris Park, near Parramatta, offering government-funded healthcare courses in pathology, individual support (aged and disability care) and more.

Who is eligible for Smart and Skilled?

You may be eligible for government-funded training if you:

  • are aged 15 or over and no longer at secondary school
  • live or work in NSW
  • are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen or humanitarian visa holder

Other rules, such as previous qualifications, can affect which courses and fees apply. Our free eligibility check above looks at all of this for you.

How much will a funded course cost?

Under Smart and Skilled you pay a student fee and the NSW Government covers the rest. Fees are set for the whole qualification and are:

  • lower if it's your first post-school qualification
  • reduced (concession) if you or a person you depend on receives an eligible Commonwealth benefit
  • exempt for eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and people with disability
  • fee free for eligible people aged 15 to 30 on a Commonwealth benefit, and for some people in or leaving out-of-home care
